Waiting for the Bus

Each CATA route serves an established number of bus stops located along the route. There are over 1,300 bus stops in CATA's fixed-route service area. Each has a unique 1 to 4-digit number. Some stops include a bench or shelter.

Arrive at your stop at least five minutes ahead of the scheduled time.

While waiting for your bus at your stop, make sure to sit or stand where the bus driver can see you. If there is a lot of standing water, ice, or snow at your stop, go to the nearest safely-cleared space to board.

If you're using the transit app, you can track the location of the bus in real-time and know exactly where it is.

Buses may run later than the published or posted time for a variety of reasons; traffic, weather, etc.

If your bus is really late, you can call a CATA Customer Experience Representative at 517-394-1000 to ask for an update.
